NSRI Mossel Bay were alerted Sunday by TNPA (Transnet National Ports Authority) Mossel Bay Harbour Port Control following reports from a private craft of a boat that had lost motor power  requiring assistance.

During investigations by NSRI Mossel Bay - to determine where the casualty boat was - NSRI reached out to a local sailing yacht who reported that a pencil duck, with 2 persons onboard, appeared to be without motor power offshore of De Bakke.

Our NSRI Mossel Bay duty crew launched the rescue craft St Blaise Rescuer and rendezvoused with pencil duck finding the local skipper and crew person safe but without motor power.

We towed them to the Mossel Bay Yacht and Boat Club without incident where we assisted them to recover their craft and no further assistance was required.
