The enduring partnership between Rotary and the NSRI has long been a cornerstone of our lifesaving projects.
A shining example of this collaboration is the annual Rotary Wine Auction, held at The Westin on Thursday, 17 October. The event has become a much-anticipated fundraiser for the NSRI.
This year’s 26th Annual Rotary Wine Auction, combined with funds raised from last year’s event, has covered the purchase of an inshore rescue craft (a JetRIB) for NSRI Strandfontein (Station 16).
This prestigious event relies on the generosity of vineyards, winemakers and wine estates, whose donations are gathered by the hardworking Rotarians from the Rotary Clubs of Newlands and Table Bay.
Held at The Westin Cape Town, the NSRI welcomed 170 guests who enthusiastically participated in the auction.
R391,800 was raised, with an additional R25,000 contribution from The Wine Cellar.
Thanks to everyone who made the night a success: the tireless Rotarians, NSRI Strandfontein volunteers, sponsors like XL Events and InHouse AV, and The Westin Cape Town for hosting us again.
Regardless of size, each contribution has helped equip NSRI Strandfontein with a brand new JetRIB, a critical resource needed to save lives.
