January 2025’s winner is …

Congratulations to Station 10, Simon’s Town Station Commander Simon McDonnell, for winning this month’s picture of the month with his photograph of the two ORCs Rescue 17, The Legacy, and Rescue 10, Donna Nicholas, on exercise together. This is Simon’s second win. He also took November 2024 with a heartwarming picture of a juvenile humpback whale after being cut free from mooring lines in Simon's Town harbour.


*Photo competition Terms & Conditions

  1. This competition is open to anyone 18 years and over.
  2. One winner will receive a voucher for the NSRI store valued at R250. Prizes are not transferable.
  3. The prize will be awarded to one winner selected by the NSRI marketing team each month. Images must depict NSRI teams conducting their work.
  4. Images must be larger than 2MB.
  5. By entering this competition, you give the NSRI permission to use your images in its marketing campaigns.
  6. There is no limit to the number of photos an individual can enter to increase their chances of winning.
  7. All entrants will be notified of the outcome of each monthly photo selection in the NSRI newsletter.
  8. All prizes are tax-free.
  9. A tax certificate may not be issued for competition entries.
  10. Prizes will be donated back to the NSRI if they are not claimed within 1 month of the winner being notified.
  11. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the NSRI marketing team will be final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result.
  12. The competition closes on the 25th of each month.
  13. Participation in the competition and acceptance of any prize (if you are the winner) is subject to acceptance of the terms & conditions set out.
