Avril Mocke, NSRI Lamberts Bay station commander, said: At 16h30, Saturday, 2 March, NSRI Lamberts Bay duty crew were activated following reports of 2 local fisherman in difficulty after their boat capsized close in-shore at a small Bay at Lamberts Bay.
The SA Police Services and Cederberg Disaster Risk Management (DRM) were on the scene with public members and fellow fishermen and WC Government Health EMS had been activated.
The NSRI Lamberts Bay rescue craft JetRib, Spirit of Saldanha, was launched and an NSRI paramedic responded in our NSRI rescue vehicle.
On arrival on the scene Police patrol officers had managed to rescue both men who had been clinging onto the upturned hull of their capsized small open fishing boat.
They were rescued onto rocks.

NSRI, Police, DRM and fellow fishermen helped them up the rocks where the NSRI paramedic treated the 2 men for hypothermia.
They were taken into the care of EMS paramedics and in stable conditions they were transported to hospital by EMS ambulance for observation for non-fatal frowning symptoms.
Their small craft was safely recovered.
The swift response to save the 2 fishermen is commended.
