TINLEY MANOR.An ongoing search is continuing at Tinley Manor where a man reportedly went missing in the surf on Thursday afternoon.
Quentin Power, NSRI Ballito station commander, said:An ongoing search is continuing at Tinley Manor on The Kwa-Zulu Natal North Coast where a 33 year old male went missing on Thursday afternoon after last being seen disappearing in the surf line while believed to be swimming.NSRI Ballito duty crew were activated at 15h56 on Thursday, 15 October, following eye-witness reports of a drowning in progress at Tinley Manor main beach.NSRI Ballito dispatched sea rescue craft and rescue swimmers, the SA Police Services, Kwadakuza lifeguards, Police Search and Rescue and IPSS Medical Rescue were activated.On arrival on the scene the NSRI sea rescue craft jet-ski Wave Runner 4 was launched into big surf conditions and an NSRI rescue swimmer was deployed from the rescue jet-ski to free dive search in the surfline and shoreline patrols were conducted.Despite an extensive sea and shoreline search no sign of the missing man was found.On Friday morning at first light NSRI Ballito duty crew conducted shoreline patrols and Police Search and Rescue and Kwadakuza lifeguards are continuing in an ongoing search.Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
