Gerrit Cloete, NSRI Port Alfred duty controller, said:At 12h28, Sunday, 4 October, NSRI Port Alfred duty crew were activated following reports of a man suffering a medical emergency for a medical condition on the beach at Kleinemond.NSRI Port Alfred medical crew were dispatched to the scene in our sea rescue vehicle and Gardmed ambulance services were activated.On arrival on the scene a 35 year old man, from Grahamstown and on a holiday at Kleinemond, was treated for a medical condition and he was stabilised.He was on the beach approximately 2.5 kilometers from the Kleinemond Beach parking area.A Gardmed ambulance arrived simultaneously and the man was brought to the Kleinemond Beach parking area in our sea rescue vehicle where he was taken into the care of paramedics and he was transported to hospital by Gardmed ambulance in a stable condition and he is expected to make a full recovery.The swift response to the emergency by all services involved is commended.
