At 16h04, Sunday, 09 February, NSRI Witsand duty crew were activated following eye-witness reports of a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) capsized at The Bar, at the Breede River Mouth, on the Cape Infanta side of the Breede River Mouth.The Sea Rescue craft Falcon Rescuer and Breede Rescuer were launched and on arrival on the scene, we found 1 man on the boat and a woman and a man had been assisted ashore by bystanders.The woman, aged 79, was sadly confirmed to be deceased and the 2 men, aged 79 and 76, survived.The 2 men were brought to our Sea Rescue station and we towed the casualty boat to our Sea Rescue station.The SA Police Services and WC Government Health EMS attended at the scene and the body of the woman was taken into the care of the Government Health EMS Forensic Pathology Services.The 2 men were treated for shock by EMS paramedics.All 3 are German citizens, the husband and wife, aged 79, are visiting from Germany. The 76 year old male, the brother of the man, is a resident of Cape Town and has a holiday house in WitsandPolice have opened an inquest docket.Condolences are conveyed to the family and friends of the deceased woman.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONE
