Geoff McGregor, NSRI East London deputy station commander, said:A Police Dive Unit will continue in an ongoing search operation for a 36 year old man from Lady Frere who has gone missing at the Kei River Mouth while he and his friend, an adult male who is also from Lady Frere, were reportedly swimming across the river mouth.NSRI East London were activated just after 11h00 to join Police on the scene searching for the missing man who had reportedly disappeared under water while he and a friend were swimming across the river mouth.NSRI launched the sea rescue craft Lotto Rescuer and assisted the Police Dive Unit in a search.Despite an extensive search no sign of the missing man has been found and Police Divers will continue in an ongoing search.The missing man’s friend was able to get out of the water safely and was not injured and raised the alarm.Police are investigating.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONE
