ST FRANCIS BAY:Sara Jane Smith, NSRI St Francis Bay station commander, said:At 06h50, Wednesday, 18th September, NSRI St Francis Bay duty crew were activated following a request for medical assistance from a Chokka fishing boat just outside of Port St Francis reporting a male adult crewman onboard suffering a medical emergency and requiring a patient evacuation.The sea rescue craft Spirit of St Francis II was launched and Private Care ambulance services were activated.We rendezvoused with the vessel and medical treatment commenced and the patient was transferred onto our sea rescue craft and brought to our sea rescue base at Port St Francis and taken into the care of Private Care paramedics.The patient has been transported to hospital in a stable condition by Private Care ambulance for further treatment.
MOSSEL BAY:Andre Fraser, NSRI Mossel Bay station commander, said:At 09h32, Wednesday, 18th September, NSRI Mossel Bay duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from a local man on a jet-ski reporting motor mechanical failure of his jet-ski off-shore of The Point.Our sea rescue craft St Blaze Rescuer was launched and on arrival on the scene we took the jet-ski under tow which we towed to the Marina without incident and once recovered no further assistance was required.
