Fishing boat assisted: Lamberts Bay

Jurie Botha, NSRI Lamberts Bay duty coxswain, said:At 14h30, Wednesday, 15th May, NSRI Lamberts Bay duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from fishermen reporting motor mechanical failure on their fishing boat off-shore of Lamberts Bay.The sea rescue craft Spirit of St Francis was launched and during a search for the fishermen we were contacted by a fishing trawler reporting to have come across the fishermen and they provided us with GPS coordinates of their position and on our arrival on the scene we thanked the fishing trawler crew for their assistance.A towline was rigged and we towed the 3 fishermen and their open fishing boat to Lamberts Bay without incident and no further assistance was required.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONE
