The Maersk Hanoi arrived in Singapore transhipment hub from Le Havre yesterday. Today at 05h00 hours SGP time the 3 hour discharge operation commenced. Stevedores from the PSA terminal, tenderly lifted the NSRI Station 5 Durban SAR ORC Alick Rennie out the deep hold and onto a waiting cargo trailer. The NSRI Station 10 Simon's Town SAR ORC Donna Nicholas followed.The operation was a well-executed team effort and both vessels are still in excellent unblemished condition. Both rescue vessels now stand alongside each other in Singapore awaiting the Maersk Tukang's arrival to collect them on their way from China to Cape Town.Paul Martin, a marine cargo surveyor from Britannia Maritime, commissioned by NSRI for risk management was on hand to ensure risks were well managed and observed throughout the operation.Our sincere thanks to Maersk Safmarine.
