Marc Rodgers, NSRI Plettenberg Bay station commander, said:At 01h54, Wednesday, 05 September, NSRI Plettenberg Bay duty crew were activated following a request for medical assistance from the fishing trawler FV Active reporting a crew member onboard suffering a suspected Stroke (CVA - Cerebro Vascular Accident).The vessel was steaming towards Plettenberg Bay from fishing grounds deep sea in good sea conditions.The sea rescue craft Ray Farnham was launched.On arrival on the scene, 8 nautical miles off-shore of The Point, NSRI medics were transferred onto the vessel and medical treatment to the patient, an adult male, commenced in the cabin and the patient was secured onto a stretcher and transferred onto the sea rescue craft and in our care we brought to our sea rescue base where he was taken into the care of EMS paramedics and he has been transported to hospital by WC Government Health EMS ambulance in a stable condition.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONE
