HARTBEESPOORT DAM:Rod Pitter, NSRI Hartbeespoort Dam station commander, said: At 19h10 NSRI Hartbeespoort Dam duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from 2 Pretoria men on a power boat reporting to be stranded in the Hyacinth on Hartbeespoort Dam and their boat Catch Me suffered motor mechanical failure.They had launched earlier from the Ifafi Aquatic Club.Our duty crew launched our rescue craft Rotary Endeavor and on arrival on the scene, in a light North Westerly wind, we reached the casualty boat and took them under tow and we towed them to our NSRI base without incident where their boat was recovered.Once their boat was safely recovered no further assistance was required.The operation was completed at 21h30.
