John Nicholas, NSRI Port Edward station commander, said:At 12h00, Wednesday, 08th August, NSRI Port Edward medical crew were activated to assist at a motor vehicle accident on the Ezingweni Road involving 2 motor vehicles, a light pick up (LDV) and a hatchback.Our Sea Rescue vehicle responded and on arrival on the scene NSRI medics assisted Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue Services, the SA Police Services, Ray Nkonyeni Traffic Services, KZN Private ambulance services and Netcare 911 ambulance services treating 2 male patients on the scene. We helped treat one from each vehicle, which included freeing one of the men from entrapment, using hydraulic rescue equipment.Both men, aged 54 and 42, were transported to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
