A warm welcome to our Station Commanders who are in Cape Town this weekend to attend StatCom Conference 2018 as well as the AGM.The theme of the conference is 'RESET. REFRESH. REFUEL.' and our aim is to spend the weekend together reflecting on what we have achieved and plan the way ahead. We hope everyone leaves on Sunday feeling encouraged, supported and inspired. This evening we have The Social Literacy Conversation talking about embracing diversity. Tomorrow morning our keynote speaker is Ryan Stramrood, who has donated his time, our Futures Committee gives us an update on technology and then it is an open session to discuss StatCom load and capacity. At lunchtime we break into focused workshops/site visits: ORC talk, NSRI Lifeguards, visit to Strandfontein/HoutBay/Survival Centre. In the evening we attend the AGM and after a good night's rest the out-of-towners fly home on Sunday.Thank you to Station 18 Melkbosstrand for hosting us on Friday and thank you to Century City Hotel and Conference Centre for the special package you have arranged for us... we enjoyed the ducks.
