Reinard Geldenhuys, NSRI Agulhas station commander, said:At 11h40, Monday, 25th June, NSRI Agulhas duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from the owner of the chuckie boat (small open fishing boat) Stella reporting motor mechanical difficulties and they were at anchor South of the Agulhas Lighthouse. We determined that sea conditions were too big for a fellow chuckie boat to attempt a tow and our NSRI duty crew launched our 8.5m sea rescue craft Spirit of Agulhas and responded. The sea rescue craft rendezvoused with the casualty boat Stella about 10 nautical miles from Struis Baai harbour and we took her under tow and arrived back in Struisbaai harbour about two hours later without incident and once safely moored they required no further assistance.
