Jeremiah Jackson, NSRI Shelly Beach station commander, said:At 18h20, Saturday, 10th March, NSRI Shelly Beach duty crew were activated to assist the SA Police Services Search and Rescue and MedEvac ambulance services responding to reports of a drowning in progress at St Michaels Beach, 2 kilometers from our sea rescue station.NSRI rescue swimmers responded directly to the scene to join Police Search and Rescue and MedEvac.On arrival on the scene a female teenager, age 15, was found to already be out of the water and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) efforts commenced.Sadly after all CPR efforts were exhausted the teenager was declared deceased by paramedics.The body of the local teenager has been taken into the care of the Forensic Pathology Services and Police have opened an inquest docket.NSRI and the emergency services convey Condolences to family and friends.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONE
