Vaughn Seconds, NSRI Strandfontein station commander, said:At 16h44 on Sunday the 15th of October, NSRI Strandfontein duty crew were activated by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) following a request for assistance from the SA Police Services reporting to be at Wolfgat Nature Reserve where the body of a female had been found below the cliff on the beach and in the care of the Police who were on the scene.The sea rescue craft Spirit of Grandwest CSI was launched and on arrival on the scene NSRI found the SA Police Services and Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services in attendance.The body of a female was taken onboard the sea rescue craft and transported to the NSRI sea rescue base in Strandfontein where she was then taken into the care of the SA Police Services and the Forensic Pathology Services.It is not known to NSRI how the body of the deceased female came to be on the beach at Wolfgat Nature Reserve.Police have opened an inquest docket and are investigating.
