In July, a chokka boat with 16 on board capsized off St Francis, this brought back memories of the tragedy in 1966 when 17 fishermen drowned off Still Bay. For the past 50 years, our volunteers have put to sea to rescue strangers. They can only do this because people like you fund the necessary gear to protect our crew in adverse conditions.Helmets and life jackets are two absolute essentials we supply across our entire fleet of rescue craft. These are non-negotiable items and we are running short of both. A life jacket currently costs approximately R1 300 and a helmet around R900. Our current need is for 200 life jackets and 150 helmets; the total cost is R395 000.Help us raise the funds for this essential equipment by supporting our givengain page:https://www.givengain.com/cause/5872/campaigns/18030/
