NSRI St Francis Bay - NSRI St Francis Bay crew carrying the patient, in a stable condition, secured into a Stokes Basket Stretcher.GORDONS BAY:Alan Meiklejohn, NSRI Gordons Bay station commander, said:At 05h40, Monday, 10 July, NSRI Gordons Bay duty crew were activated by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) following reports of 2 men requesting assistance on a rubber-duck off-shore of Gordons Bay reporting that they had run out of fuel and needing assistance to get into the harbour.The sea rescue craft Spirit of Surfski was launched and on arrival on the scene we rigged a towline and towed them into the Gordons Bay harbour where they recovered their craft and no further assistance was required.ST FRANCIS BAY:Sarah Smith, NSRI St Francis Bay station commander, said:At 22h25, Monday, 10th July, NSRI St Francis Bay duty crew were activated to respond to rendezvous with the Chokka fishing boat Vukani I reporting a 26 year old Port Elizabeth crewman onboard suffering a suspected heart attack.Our sea rescue craft Spirit of St Francis II was launched and rendezvoused with the Chokka fishing boat Vukani I just off-shore of the Port of St Francis and the fisherman, suffering chest pains and abdominal pains, was stabilised by our NSRI medics and secured into a Stokes basket stretcher and then transferred onto our sea rescue craft and brought into Port in the care of our NSRI medics and he was handed into the care of paramedics from Private Care ambulance services and transported to hospital by ambulance in a stable condition.Picture attached: By NSRI St Francis Bay - NSRI St Francis Bay crew carrying the patient, in a stable condition, secured into a Stokes Basket Stretcher.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONE
