Our rescue crew from Station 14 Plett were asked by Mr Groenewald from Formosa Primary to do a short talk to their learners during a beach outing. We spoke about being prepared when you go to the beach, what to look out for and general water safety. Bruce Nobel spoke to the children about Sea Rescue and our rescue boats, he then taught them about the dangers of rip currents and what to do if anyone got caught in one. The children were reminded to only swim when and where lifeguards are on duty.Thank you very much to our crew who took time off work today to help with this group of over 500 children. Thanks Robbie Gibson, Bruce Noble, Wihann Kotze , Andre von Bloemmestein and Ross Badenhorst.
