Volunteer crew and their families, sponsors, donors and supporters gathered today for the naming ceremony and blessing of 'Spirit of Day' at Station 3 Table Bay Rescue Base. The late Bernard Day, sponsor of the 6.5m RIB (rigid inflatable boat) was remembered and honoured by Quentin Botha, Station Commander.

Dr Cleeve Robertson (CEO) welcomed all the special guests on behalf of Sea Rescue.
Reverend Peter Langerman blessed the Spirit of DayAfter the blessing, the traditional cracking of champagne and pouring it over the vessel was performed by the late Bernard Day's partner Rosemary Nathan.
