Wilderness_5650WILDERNESS:Robert van Helsdingen, NSRI Wilderness station commander, said:At 11h32, Thursday, 16th March, our NSRI Wilderness duty crew responded to an informal settlement at the Gwaing River Mouth following reports of a baby drowning.On arrival on the scene paramedics, Fire and Rescue Services and the SA Police Services were in attendance where sadly a baby had been declared deceased after suffering a fatal drowning in only a bucket of water in an apparent accident.The body of the baby was taken into the care of Police and the Forensic Pathology Services and Police counsellors are assisting the family and an inquest docket has been opened by Police.NSRI and Emergency Services express heartfelt condolences to the family.PLETTENBERG BAY:Marc Rodgers, NSRI Plettenberg Bay station commander, said:At 13h24, Friday, 17th March, NSRI Plettenberg Bay duty crew responded following a request for assistance at Sanctuary, reportedly on a beach path, where an 80 year old female, from Plettenberg Bay, had fallen while walking and assistance was reportedly only required to assist her husband to get her to their car at the car park.As a precautionary measure a MedLife ambulance was activated.On NSRI's arrival on the scene, as a precautionary measure, NSRI medics treated the female for a suspected Stroke (or mild seizure) and she was handed into the care of paramedics and transported to hospital by ambulance in a stable condition.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONE
