20170211_19144220170211_191757The blessing ceremony of the new 4.2 metre vessel for Station 17 Hermanus took place yesterday evening at Sumaridge Wine Estate. The vessel was sponsored by the owners of the estate, Holly Bellingham and Simon Turner and named after their white wine 'Maritimus'.Reverend James blessed the vessel after which Holly performed the naming ceremony of pouring sparkling wine over her bow.The function was attended by the social cricket teams from Lloyds of London and Hermanus who were due to play on Sunday. During dinner the team from Lloyds of London did a collection and handed over a donation of R7500 to the Sea Rescue Station Commander, Deon Langenhoven.
