Tracks of the three rescue boats respondingTheo Erasmus, NSRI Witsand station commander, said: At 16h46, Friday, 23rd December, NSRI Witsand duty crew were activated following reports of the yacht Cash Flow reportedly capsized approximately 17 nautical miles off-shore of Cape Infanta with a solo sailor onboard, a male believed to be aged 27, from Simonstown, in heavy seas and a gusting 40 knot wind.NSRI Witsand dispatched our 8.5m rigid inflatable sea rescue craft Breede Rescuer, NSRI Mossel Bay launched the 10m Brede class sea rescue craft Rescue 15 and NSRI Agulhas dispatched the 8.5m rigid inflatable sea rescue craft Spirit of Agulhas (to stand-by closer to the scene if needed).The yacht Cash Flow reported to be overturned in heavy seas and the lone skipper had called Telkom Maritime Radio Services for assistance and MRCC (Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre) were alerted.On NSRI Witsand arrival on the scene the skipper chose to continue sailing to Mossel Bay and NSRI returned to base.
