Our Helderberg chapter of the Life boat Club for retired crew and retired supporters got together yesterday for a year end lunch hosted by Kim at the Krystal Beach Hotel in Gordon's Bay. Our guest speaker, Neil Slater - Deputy Station Commander at Station 9 Gordon's Bay shared the journey of becoming a rescue volunteer as well as very special stories of rescues that he has been involved in.
