At 07h35 on Wednesday the 10th of August, NSRI Simon's Town duty crew launched the Sea Rescue craft Spirit of Safmarine III and Spirit of Surfski II carrying water extrication pumps following a request for assistance from the fishing vessel Rooigoud reporting to be taking water at the Rocky Banks area, deep-sea off-shore of Cape Point.NSRI Kommetjie responded through the morning traffic to deliver additional water extrication pumps to NSRI Simon's Town prior to their launching. On arrival on the scene the fishing vessel crew were managing to stem the water ingress while underway towards Kalk Bay harbour. NSRI Simon's Town escorted them to the harbour without incident, and once safely berthed, they required no further assistance. The operation was completed at 10h39. IMG_7039 IMG_7040 IMG_7042 IMG_7044
