File image File imageDeon Langenhoven, NSRI Hermanus station commander, said: At 13h00, Saturday, 31st October, NSRI Hermanus duty crew were called to assist Police suspecting that a child may have fallen or had jumped into the sea at Blowhole, next to the Hermanus New Harbour. A group of 5 children, believed to be aged around 7 year olds, were reportedly chased by a swarm of bees and dispersed.Two of the children were safe and in the care of the Police, additional Police patrol vehicles were dispatched to confirm if the other children had run home. Two of the children were found to be safe at home and one child remained unaccounted.NSRI joined Police searching for the missing child when it came to light that the missing child had been stung by bees and a member of the public had rushed that child to hospital. The child was safe and being treated for bee stings.With all children accounted for no further assistance was required.
