At 17h31 on Sunday the 13th of September, NSRI Table Bay duty crew were activated by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) following a request for assistance from the 12 meter motor vessel REBELLION, with 3 crew onboard, a father, mother and their young son, from Cape Town, reporting to be off Oceana Power Boat Club (OPBC). Their boat had suffered engine trouble and they required a tow into Port.Table Bay dispatched their sea rescue craft SPIRIT OF VODACOM and rendezvoused with the casualty boat just under a nautical mile off OPBC, a tow-line was rigged and Rebellion was safely towed into the Port of Table Bay without incident. Once their boat was safely berthed they required no further assistance. In April of this year Rebellion assisted our volunteers from Table Bay by towing the yacht Spirit of Maratek into the harbour after her mast came down. It's always nice seeing friends out on the water.2015-09-13 18.15.43 2015-09-13 18.16.57 IMG-20150913-WA0020 IMG-20150913-WA0011 TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONESMS 32287 with your name and a message of support for our Sea Rescue crew
