Voluntary divers from False Bay Underwater Club and Old Mutual Sub Aqua Club (OMSAC) teamed up with Plastics SA, Ocean Conservancy and sponsors Pick n Pay and REEF wetsuits on International Coastal Cleanup day at Harbour Island in Gordon's Bay. Residents of the Harbour Island marina kindly donated the use of their boats to ferry the divers and homeowners volunteered their time to distribute the collection bags and to log the finds. NSRI has been chosen as the favourite charity and proceeds of the event will be donated to NSRI Station 9 Gordon's Bay. Thank you to everyone who got involved.IMG_4776IMG_4780Rescue crew from Station 9 Gordon Rescue crew from Station 9 Gordon's BayGustav Weich (Jnr), Alan Meiklejohn, Thea Brand and Ryan Holmes Gustav Weich (Jnr), Alan Meiklejohn, Thea Brand and Ryan Holmesdive 03 Pic: Indigo ScubaCarina Thiart, Chief Operations Manager at Harbour Island Carina Thiart, Chief Operations Manager at Harbour Island.
