Station 5, Durban hosted its annual station awards evening last night. The function was well supported by invited guests, supporters, crew and their families. Station commander Clifford Ireland presented an interesting overview of both Station 5's and Sea Rescue's achievements over the past year and the plans for the future. Thereafter the awards were presented to the deserving recipients with a light dinner and drinks concluding the evening.
The award winners were:
Best Trainee - Amy Coetzee,
Most Improved Crewman - Lorenzo Taverna-Turisan,
Team Player Award - Roy Wienand,
Crew's Crew Person Award - Ian Livermore (not present),
Best Crew - Starboard Crew,
Service to the Station 5 Award - Brian St-Clair Laing,
Best Crewman - Clifford Ireland.
The awards were presented by Station Commander Clifford Ireland.
