Two new rescue boats, Spirit of Surfski 3 and Grinrod Rescuer, both 4.7m Gemini made rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), left yesterday with our boat transporter to Durban and Richards Bay. The boats, which are designed for inshore surf rescue work, are each powered by a 55HP Yamaha engine. After completing their sea trials last week the boats were loaded onto a flatbed and should be in Kwazulu Natal by Wednesday. These two boats will replace the existing 4m boats at the two stations.Grinrod_surfski_5617Grinrod_surfski_5618
