KNYSNA:At 11h35 on Friday the 22nd of May, NSRI Knysna duty crew launched the sea rescue craft JAYTEE III to rendezvous with a 4.7 meter rubber duck with two local men onboard off Buffalo Bay.The two men had launched through the Knysna Heads in the morning to go fishing but in rough sea conditions did not want to take the chance of trying to get to shore without assistance.On arrival on the scene NSRI Knysna assisted the two men to shore on their boat at Walker Bay and once safely ashore no further assistance was required. PORT ELIZABETH:At 07h35 on Saturday the 23rd of May, NSRI Port Elizabeth duty crew launched the sea rescue craft EIKOS RESCUER IV to rendezvous with the bulk carrier MEDI BALTIMORE sailing from India to Salvador Brazil and requiring medical attention for a 34 year old Romanian crewman who had fallen onboard a few days prior and suffered a suspected fractured left arm.NSRI Port Elizabeth rendezvoused with MEDI BALTIMORE 6 nautical miles off-shore and the patient has been taken off the vessel and brought safely to shore and transported to hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.IMG-20150524-WA000IMG-20150524-WA001 TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONESMS 32287 with your name and a message of support for our Sea Rescue crew
