MOSSEL BAYAt 14h50, Sunday, 08 March, NSRI Mossel Bay duty crew responded sea rescue craft to Hartenbos following reports of a boat capsized.On arrival on-scene a 62 year old man and a 35 year old man, both from Swartvlei, Sedgefield, were found safe but their small boat was found capsized and they were assisted to recover their boat onto their trailer.Almost immediately NSRI Mossel Bay were activated to respond to the same area where a Hobie Cat with one local adult male onboard was reported to have demasted and on arrival on-scene NSRI found the man to be safe, the Hobie Cat had suffered some Mainstay damage after capsizing and the man on his Hobie Cat was towed safely to shore where he required no further assistance.JEFFREYS BAYAt 15h25, Sunday, 08th March, NSRI Jeffreys Bay duty crew dispatched their Discovery Rescue Runner and a sea rescue vehicle to Albatross Beach where eye-witnesses reported seeing a man floating face down in the water.EC Government Health EMS and Police also responded.On arrival on-scene NSRI Jeffreys Bay rescuers found a 51 year old man from Port Elizabeth being rescued from the surf by bystanders who initiated CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) efforts but sadly EC Government Health EMS paramedics confirmed that the man was deceased and he is suspected to have suffered a heart attack while swimming with friends.Police are informing the man's family and the body of the deceased man has been taken into the care of the Police.NSRI and the Emergency Services express sincere condolences to family and friends of the deceased man.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONESMS 32287 with your name and a message of support for our Sea Rescue crew (SMS/R1)JBay
