Sunday, 29th March:The yacht ADIOS was towed safely to Port by NSRI East London, without incident on Sunday, 29th March, in favourable sea conditions, arriving just short of an hour ahead of the estimated time of arrival and were safely berthed, requiring no further assistance, at 17h06.East London – Sunday 29 March, 2015.At 07h38 on Sunday the 29th of March, East London duty crew launched SPIRIT OF LOTTO following a request for assistance, made to the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), from the yacht ADIOS, with 4 male crew on board. They were sailing from Port Elizabeth to her home port in East London and had motor failure. In windless conditions and a flat sea they were unable to make progress, and although in no imminent danger, requested assistance.SPIRIT OF LOTTO arrived on-scene at 10h45, 58 nautical miles south of East London, off the Fish River Lighthouse. All 4 men were safe and a tow line has been rigged to the casualty yacht. We expect to be in the Port of East London with the casualty boat under tow at 18h00 this evening.
