At 03h32 on Saturday the 14th of February NSRI Mossel Bay duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from the yacht SWEET WATERS, with a family from Port Elizabeth on board.
Andre Fraser, NSRI Mossel Bay station commander, said:'They were sailing from Port Elizabeth to Mossel Bay but sustained mechanical motor problems and despite trying to get into Mossel Bay harbour without assistance in a wind lull they then requested NSRI assistance.'
'NSRI Mossel Bay launched RESCUE 15 and on arrival on the scene, 2 nautical miles outside of the Mossel Bay harbour, a tow line was rigged and the yacht towed safely into Mossel Bay harbour without incident and no further assistance was required.'
