A group of off-duty NSRI volunteer rescuers from NSRI Gordon's Bay, NSRI Mykonos and NSRI Yzerfontein, were at a birthday party at Blue Rock Water Park (near Gordon's Bay) today, Sunday, 25th January. They witnessed an accident where a 27 year old Danish doctor, in South Africa on a doctors working holiday with other foreign doctors, sustained facial injuries and unconsciousness after falling and hitting his head while wake board skiing.The NSRI rescuers assisted the patient's fellow doctors to medically treat and stabilise him after he was rescued from the water by Blue Rock staff.He was transported to hospital in a stable condition where he is being treated for his injuries.TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONESMS 32287 with your name and a message of support for our Sea Rescue crew.
