At 14h15 on Monday the 22nd of December, NSRI Knysna duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from the 42 foot yacht MOHON MARA, with 3 crew on board, all 22 year old males, sailing from Cape Town to Richards Bay and reporting propeller shaft damage and needing assistance through the Knysna Heads and to a berthing in Knysna Lagoon.NSRI Knysna dispatched our sea rescue craft COLORPRESS RESCUER and JAYTEE III and on arrival on-scene, 1 nautical mile outside the Knysna Heads, COLORPRESS RESCUER took the yacht under tow, towing them safely through the heads and to a safe berth at the Knysna Yacht Club.One of the yachtsman was in plaster of paris for a fractured leg that reportedly happened when he fell off the dock onto the yacht while they were in Mossel Bay.They will repair the propeller shaft in Knysna before continuing on their voyage.Yacht Tow TO REPORT A SEA RESCUE EMERGENCY DIAL 112 FROM A CELLPHONESMS 32287 with your name and a message of support for our Sea Rescue crew
