STRUISBAAI:Reinard Geldenhuys, NSRI Agulhas station commander, said:At 06h00, Sunday, 14th December, NSRI Agulhas duty crew launched our sea rescue craft VODACOM RESCUER VII to go to the assistance of AHI, a ‘chucky' small open fishing boat, with 5 local fishermen onboard, reporting motor failure at the 12 Mile Bank (fishing grounds off-shore of Struisbaai).On arrival on-scene attempts were made to restart the casualty boats motor but unsuccessful at restarting the motors, suspected to have water contaminated in the diesel, we took them under tow and towed them to Struisbaai without incident. TABLE BAY:Rudi Fisch, NSRI Table Bay duty coxswain, said:At 14h09, Sunday, 14th December, NSRI Table Bay were alerted by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) to go to the assistance of the Royal Cape Yacht Club 34 foot yacht GLEN ADRIENNE, with a Paarl family, a husband, wife, daughter and the daughters boyfriend onboard, reporting motor failure, 1.5 nautical miles off the Port of Table Bay breakwater and requiring assistance to get into Port.We launched our sea rescue craft SPIRIT OF VODACOM and on arrival on the scene took the yacht under tow, towing them safely to their berth without incident.2014-12-14 15.17.502014-12-14 16.24.25
