At 09h27, Friday, 17th October, NSRI Knysna volunteer sea rescue duty crew were activated to assist WC Government Health EMS on the shoreline of the Knysna Lagoon where a 30 year old local fisherman had reportedly fallen off the Knysna Lagoon Train Bridge into the water.Our NSRI Knysna volunteer sea rescue duty crew launched our sea rescue craft JAYTEE III and on arrival on-scene found the EMS paramedics treating the man for a head injury on the lagoon banks below the train bridge.The man was loaded onto our sea rescue craft secured into a Stokes Basket Stretcher and transported to the Jetty at Knysna Lagoon where an EMS ambulance has transported the man to hospital in a stable condition.It is not clear what caused the fisherman to fall off the bridge.Picture Andrew Ingram / Sea Rescue
