This gorgeous picture was taken from the race control boat about 5 minutes after the start of the fun race.We were blessed yesterday with the most stunning mid-winter’s day in Durban – warm sunshine, with a gentle breeze from the North-East – absolutely perfect for our NSRI Barrel Race fundraising day. The afternoon festivities of lucky draws and auctions went off extremely well, and whilst we still have some pledges to come in it looks like around R100 000 was raised for Station 5 Durban. The event is hosted by all four yacht clubs in Durban: Point Yacht Club, Royal Natal Yacht Club, Bluff Yacht Club and Island Sailing Club. Approximately 30 boats took part in the sail past this year.Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm and generous support.
