On Friday the 9th of May some of the Durban senior crew held a flare safety lecture at the Isipingo ski boat club. The talk explained the differences of each type of flare, their uses, and when one should use a particular flare. A discussion was held regarding safety at sea regarding capsized boats, what to do and what to look out for, regarding ones safety. After the lecture a demonstration was giving on how one should ignite a hand held flare again covering all of the safety issues. The lecture was very well supported by the ski boat members who were very grateful, and presented Station 5 with a donation.IMG-20140509-WA0006 Durban volunteer Lorenzo Taverna-Turisan talks to club members.IMG-20140509-WA0007
