At 14h45 on Thursday the 27th of February, NSRI Mossel Bay volunteer sea rescue duty crew were activated following reports of three people being swept out to sea at Diaz Beach, Mossel Bay.Our NSRI Mossel Bay volunteer sea rescue duty crew launched our sea rescue craft Vodacom Rescuer II and Vodacom Rescuer IV and an NSRI rescue vehicle and ER24 ambulance services responded.On arrival on-scene a 23 year old woman was found to be out of the water and a man, aged 30, was found to be busy coming out of the water. Both exited the water unassisted and were treated on-scene by ER24 ambulance service paramedics for near drowning symptoms. Both have been transported to hospital in stable conditions for observation for secondary drowning.A sea and shore search continued for a missing man, believed to be aged in his 30’s, who reportedly disappeared under water after all three people, who are from Cape Town, were swept out to sea by rip currents.Despite an extensive search no sign of the man has been found and a Police Dive Unit are continuing with an ongoing search.Police will open an investigation into the incident.Diaz Beach - Mossel Bay Diaz Beach, Mossel Bay (Source: www.06.live-radsport.ch)
