The Day of Reconciliation was celebrated by the crew of Station 5 with a traditional Potjie Kos competition amongst friends and family. Bluff Yacht Club graciously hosted the crew and before the competition heated up Station Commander Clifford Ireland was handed a cheque for R5000 by the club. The day was was spent honing cooking skills, relaxing and giving family and friends rides on the rescue craft. The crew, never one's to pass up an opportunity soon created a crude game of cricket with a length of drift wood and cricket ball providing much amusement to the spectators. The aroma of bubbling Potjies even attracted a well known friend from the north pole who received a warm welcome by excited children and former Station Commander Andrew Stevens together with his wife Christine judged the variety of culinary creations concluding an extremely successful day ... and the competition was once again won by Clifford Ireland ...... for the 4th year in a row!Report and pictures by Andre Fletcher.Clifford Ireland accepting a cheque for R5000 from BYC.
