Station 17 Hermanus was called to assist a boat reportedly capsized off Betty's Bay.
Our rescue boat Hunters Gold Rescuer was towed by road to launch at Stoney Point.
One of our crew, in the area at the time, spotted the upturned hull about 100 meters off the beach at Silverstrand.
Metro helicopter 'Skymed ' was put on standby. No persons could be seen in the water at the time.
Just before 5.5m Hunters Gold Rescuer launched we were informed by the Kleinmond police that 3 persons were picked up by another vessel and had been brought to safety at the Kleinmond harbour.
They were all in good health.
NSRI crew made their way to the beach where the boat had washed up. After making sure that all persons were accounted for the station stood down.
