Addington Grade 5s learn about helping a peer.During my talks with the children during the sessions, it also became clear, that many of them will be going home to inland Kzn, where there are dams and rivers. The children loved the classes and responded really well. Talking to them about the rip currents was interesting, as they all knew that the current existed, but had no way of knowing what they looked like, or how to get out of one. There were a lot of good questions, which showed a good level of understanding of the topic. Equally as important was the fact that every one of the teachers sat in on the classes. Their feedback to me was good, and they also indicated that they too had learnt from our class.I must say, that my progress through Addington Primary, in their different assembly groups, and individual classes, has been entertaining, enjoyable and most rewarding. The children have a huge ability to learn and retain information.I wish them all a Waterwise Safe holiday!
