Man rescued on rubber-duck:

At 14h58 (Wednesday, 06th November) NSRI Port Elizabeth crew were activated following reports of a rubber-duck with one man on board, being swept out to sea at the Swartkops River Mouth.The 30 year old man, from Uitenhage, had phoned NSRI to say he had been fishing when his boat suffered engine failure and despite having his anchor deployed the anchor dragged and he was swept out to sea on the rubber-duck.Our crew towed our rescue craft BOARDWALK RESCUER and launched at Swartkops River mouth. On reaching the man a tow-line was rigged and we towed him to shore where he required no further assistance. Picture Daniel Heimann
