NSRI received at least least 40 calls from residents and concerned members of the public on the beachfront, reporting 3 kite boarders drifting without wind off Bloubergstrand.At 18h34 we launched our rescue craft and sent a vehicle by road.An adult male kite-boarder was found off-shore of Onse Huisie, he was instructed to deflate his kite while our rescue craft responded to the next casualty, an adult male, a mile West of Doodles Restaurant, Tableview, he was also instructed to deflate his kite while our sea rescue craft responded to the third kite-boarder, off-shore of Dolphin Beach - here the adult female had abandoned her kite and she had swum ashore safely and her kite was recovered by NSRI before our sea rescue craft returned to rescue the two males in succession.All of their kites were recovered , the two men were brought ashore aboard our rescue craft and no one was injured.As we enter summer season we urge sea users to exercise caution around the coast.
