Yesterday (Sunday 25 August) was the first aid practical examination at Durban. This concluded the first aid training that has been held at Durban Sea Rescue base for the trainees and crew over the last two weekends. The final practical consisted of three people been injured aboard a vessel 'Umlingo' which was kindly loaned to us by Ben form Isle of Capri Cruises.The three casualties injures range from a broken arm, a fractured femur and one of the casualties had fainted.The crew had to assess the injures and take the necessary actions to secure and transport the patients to the awaiting 'ambulance's'.Pictures by Lorenzo Taverna-Turisan are available for media download on Sea Rescue's Flickr Page.Durban_first aid_1387wDurban_first aid_1392wDurban_first aid__1422wDurban_first aid_1425w
