At 03h04 on Wednesday the 24th of July NSRI Table Bay volunteers were activated by the Transnet National Ports Authority following a request for medical assistance from staff on Robben Island who reported that their colleague, 35 year old Noxolo Adaonis, from Delft, Cape Town, to be in labour.Pat van Eyssen, NSRI Table Bay station commander, said: 'Our Table Bay duty crew launched SPIRIT OF VODACOM and responded accompanied by a WC Government Health EMS paramedic.'On our arrival at Murrays Bay Harbour on Robben Island the patient was brought onboard SPIRIT OF VODACOM and made comfortable. She was brought to the Port of Table Bay where she was transferred into a WC Government Health EMS ambulance and she has been transported to the maternity ward at New Somerset Hospital.'Our NSRI rescue crew and the EMS paramedics have wished her well with this which will be the birth of her fourth child. New Somerset Hospital staff have confirmed that Noxolo remained in labour at 09h00 and that Mom and Baby are doing well.' Table Bay NSRI boat Spirit of Vodacom.
